On Saturday 2nd March 2019 I ventured to Brisbane Airport to try out a new camera and lens and try to find some photo locations around the airport for RY01 takeoffs. I found the Kingsford Smith Memorial where the original Southern Cross Fokker Trimotor has been preserved just near the international terminal. Later I moved on to Da Vinci park to see how close I could get to aircraft climbing out. A few keepers but I rejected most including a QANTAS 787 Dreamliner due to low light and too much underwing noise. Still good to get out for a while as I haven't been photographing much of late, and some worthwhile location scouting. Brisbane airport doesn't make it easy to get good shots of aircraft, there is one hardstand at the northern end which requires a ladder for RW01 landings. Hopefully when the second paralel runway opens in 2020 they will have a good spotting location for us aviation photographers.
