On Saturday 16th May 2020 I went for a short outing to Brisbane Airport (YBBN) Acacia Street spotting loop. I had heard a RAAF C-17A Globemaster III transport may be inbound from Vanuatu on a cyclone relief mission, unfortunately it arrived late a few hours after dark. I arrived just too late to capture the beautiful RACQ Lifeflight Learjet 45 land, I may have cursed when I saw that on approach as I exited the car. Qantas Airbus A330-303 VH-QPJ "Port Stephens" came in from Auckland and made some good tyre smoke on touchdown. It was followed by Air New Zealand Airbus A320-271N ZK-NHC which I captured with the thrust reversers opening while the nosewheel was still in the air. Apart from those two, I only managed a pair of Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Beech B300 Super King Air 350C aircraft, registrations VH-FDC and VH-FDF. I got some good prop blur on both as they taxiied past on the way to their base, those four-laded props spinning fast on taxi really help get some pleasing blur. A short stay that afternoon, a shame that a big dark cloud covered the sun as it set, otherwise there would have been some nice golden light on the aircraft.
