Arriving home from work today I found our resident pair of Crested Pigeons feeding on the nature strip in late afternoon light. I couldn't resist the chance to get close to them in nice light, so quickly grabbed my camera and sat on the curb about 10 metres away. After a while one of the pair started walking across the road, and of course then a car approached. It waited until quite late, then flew off, thankfully not getting close to the car. Its mate followed not long after. This pair are regularly feeding on small seeds on our driveway, they are rather calm and it is noce to get close to these beautiful birds. Their iridescent wing panels and crests are visible in this series of images.
