On Sunday 18th March 2018 I ventured to Anstead Bushland Reserve (Anstead, Queensland, Australia). This a good bird spot I haven't visited for about 6 months, as it usually goes quiet during the heat of the Brisbane summer. It was very quiet this morning, not a high species count or bird numbers, also light overcast so light wasn't the best. I was very fortunate to find a group of about 6 Apostlebirds at the front fence as I was about to enter the site, I jumped out with camera in hand and made sure I didn't miss the opportunity of capturing these birds I don't see very often. Glad that I did, as I didn't sight them again in the next three hours. Although the light was low, my camera captured them well using high ISO, very happy with what I was able to capture considering the low light. Not many other highlights, most birds were flighty and far away, the only other shots I kept were of Willie Wagtail (they are very fiesty small birds) and a (very common) Torresian Crow. Still good to get out and check out a spot I hadn't visited for some time, with a good birding buddy who was in town from overseas.
