20190309-MMPI0053 - Sandy Camp Wetlands
On Saturday 9th March 2019 I made a rare afternoon birding trip to Sandy Camp Road Wetlands at Wynnum, Queensland, Australia. After a couple of months of no rain (very unseasonal for Brisbane in Summer), the ponds all had very low water level. Lots of wading birds such as Egrets and Herons were taking advantage of this, hunting for aquatic fauna in the muddy water. The light was very harsh so I only kept a few photos from the outing, the highlights being a Rainbow Bee-eater in nice light, a Peaceful Dove against a clean blue sky and a couple of Laughing Kookaburras having a laugh on a power line.
