20190315-MMPI0053 - Anstead Bushland Reserve
On Friday 15th March 2019 I ventured to Anstead Bushland Reserve in search of an uncommon (to this area) Oriental Cuckoo that had been seen in recent days. Well I wasn't disappointed, when I arrived to the spot I was told it was hanging around it was on the ground and flew up into a tree. I got to get some shots before it moved on, I wasn't able to get close to the bird again as kept moving away so I left it in peace. I was also rewarded by a couple of Shining Bronze Cuckoos, I believe they should have migrated back north by now but there are plenty of sightings of them all around Brisbane still in early Autumn. Finally, a Laughing Kookaburra posed beautifully for me in a Eucalypt tree. All in all, a reasonably successful and nice morning out instead of being at work.
