20200416-MMPI0064 - Toowong Cemetery
Thursday 16th April 2020 saw me go for another morning exercise around the hilly around Toowong Cemetery with my camera gear. Nothing outstanding sighted this morning, so I decided to spend some time trying to capture some of the numerous Crows and Currawongs in flight. That proved once again mostly unsuccessful, although I got a couple of keepers of Torresian Crow (Corvus orru) in flight. Trying to get a good exposure of jet-black birds against even a clear blue sky and fast enough exposure to freeze motion is proving very difficult but good fun to try. I spotted a female Australian Magpie (Gymnorhina tibicen) that was on the hunt for tasty morsels on the grass so I lay down and got some nice portrait shots of this always proud-looking bird. Another beautiful morning, walked around 3.5Km up hill and down dale with my 4Kg of camera gear and a great way to start the working day.
