On Sunday 24th May 2020 I made a short outing to Archerfield Airport in search of aircraft photos, but as happens at so many airports I found a few nice birds to photograph. On the way I stopped in for a short recce of a park at Sherwood where I found a Straw-necked Ibis foraging in the grass. At the airport later I found a pair of Australian Pipits, and a Nankeen Kestrel that perched on the roof of a building briefly. Finally, a pair of Wedge-tailed Eagle soared over the airport, for a while with an Australian Magpie in hot pursuit. Seeing Wedge-tailed Eagles this close to the Brisbane CBD was quite a treat.
