Sunday 4th October 2020 saw me travel to Lake Eden in the northern Brisbane suburb of North Lakes for a bird outing. Lake Eden has proven to be a nice spot for morning bird photography, with a good array of species, some good viewing locations and a relaxed atmosphere with lots of friendly locals enjoying their weekend morning walks. This morning I bagged a couple of lovely Sacred Kingfishers, a Magpie Goose in flight and some Little Wattlebirds in trees. My daily highlight was my first shot of a Black-faced Monarch (Monarcha melanopsis) which I had seen but never managed a decent image of. This lifer is Australian species #198 for me.
