Saturday 13th November 2021 saw me take a trip to Toorbul for s short bird outing before I went to an aviation event later that morning. I started with Blue-faced Honeyeaters feeding on a flowering Grevillia shrub. I noticed a Laughing Kookaburra preening in a nearby Eucalypt tree, then a pair of beautiful Pale-headed Roseallas then landed in the same tree which I can tell you made me very happy. A Pied Oystercatcher trotted toward me on the nearby mudfalts, making its piping call as it approached. I couldn't believe when it saw me walking in its direction that it began running toward me. Later I found a Little Egret wading in the shallow water on the shoreline, and a young Pied Butcherbird looked at me quizzically from a tree. A lovely morning out, not many birds but those I did get close to gave me some good poses and a lot of enjoyment.
